Wedding Trends for 2010

You have just accepted your fiance's wedding proposal for marriage, and you are looking forward to a dream wedding next year. Wondering what's in for next year? Well, we cannot deny the economy's impact to many people and businesses worldwide. People nowadays are penny pinching and getting more and more practical on things they would want to spend on.

Here are some of the suggestions on how a bride could make her dream wedding happen without spending too much:

1. Use your creativity - You can never go wrong with your own preference on gown, flowers, cake, invitation, etc. Your choice is what your personality speaks about you. You are your own designer. Do not be afraid to go for your own choice and set aside that regret for not wearing a designer wedding gown. You can either design your own wedding gown or search for wedding gown styles on the internet and have it sewn by a skilled sewer. Ask around for recommendations. For invitations, you can design your own and use handmade paper. You will not only be able to save money but you are also doing your part in saving mother nature.

2. Tap your friend's skills and talents - instead of hiring a wedding coordinator, request a friend to help you with the wedding preps and on the wedding day itself. Instead of paying for a quartet, just ask your friend to render a song at the reception.

3. Opt for vintage wedding gown - Use your Mom's, Aunt's or even Grandma's wedding gown and just have it repaired, dry cleaned, and spruced up a bit if need be.

4. Make your own invitation - This is going to be time consuming but you'll be surprised at the savings it can give you and your fiance. With enough preparation and considerable timeline you'll be able to finish your DIY invitation just in time.

5. Forego giving souvenir items - The usual budget allotted for each small item is between P20 to P50. Cheap as it is for a few pieces but if you have a hundred guests that you'll distribute souvenir items to, that's quite a big amount of money.

Have at least three suppliers for each wedding essentials so you will be able to get comparison and be able to get the best option.
